Richard Downing is the author of The Waking Rooms, a novel, and his poems and short stories have appeared in such journals as Potomac Review, Left Curve, and Tacenda (featured poet), as well as the anthologies Hunger Enough: Living Spiritually in a Consumer Society and The Dire Elegies. He has won New Delta Review's Matt Clark Poetry Prize and The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation's Barbara Mandigo Kelly Peace Poetry Award. Co-founder of Save Our Naturecoast and the Florida Peace Action Network, he wants to think poetry can change the world.
