Noor Asif

Noor Asif is a Pakistani-American woman who grew up between New York and Las Vegas. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in English at the University of California, Berkeley, where she is also working towards an M.A. in Creative Writing. Her scholarly interests are geared towards queer theory, postcolonial studies, and South Asian literature. She has an M.A. in Art History from the University of Washington (Seattle), and spent four months in Lahore on a language fellowship in 2019. Her essay “Diasporic Longing in Salman Toor’s East Village Iqbal Bano” was published in The Juggernaut, and her short story “The Crow” appeared in Peripheries, a Harvard University literary journal.
