E.R. Carlin grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. He was educated at Youngstown State U., Southern Illinois U. at Carbondale, and Pacific Lutheran U. He has worked as a bus boy, dishwasher, back-up cook, waiter, construction worker, 3D hologram salesperson, peace activist, and malcontent adjunct. His poems have appeared in a number of journals, including Beloit Poetry Journal, Cimarron Review, Hiram Poetry Review, Hunger, Minnesota Review, Rattle, New South, and Wisconsin Review.
