The Church of the Mirror

The oldest habits die the hardest, don’t they?

The sip, the chip, the toke, the poke, the joke .  .  .

No matter what your spouse & doctor say

You know that if you do it cold you’ll choke.

The grand erratic rhetoric of the mind

Facilitates historical justifications

For any use of vice that you can find,

While acid conscience melts such cheap foundations.

Until at last I’m finally forced to ask:

What’s a good SubGenius1 slacker to do

When every flight to freedom becomes a task

And desire is so unfocused that nothing is true?

What do you do when the thing you want the most

Is not to want the thing you want the most?
