I am He as You are He as You are Me and We are All Together

I borrow a little magic from the gods who live next door.  They call this

disassociation, this feeling that the air is just as important as I am.

And if I'm a little mixed up about the man I was back when you said

those things to me, those jangling things, then you have to forgive me,

here on this razed playing field, this scorched earth.  I begin to blend

in just so, with the rest of the neighborhood, restless animals and bleeding men.

I begin to find my space, in the borders, in the times I'm not me, nor you.
