Brief Bio
In publication since 1999, we are an independent journal that appears online as well as in annual print issues. We don't adhere to any particular themes or tastes, but some people tell us they see one, so who knows. Our past contributors include Stephen Graham Jones, Robert Shapard, Kim Chinquee and many others. Stories we published have been anthologized in W.W. Norton's New Sudden Fiction as well as Dzanc Books' Best of the Web.
Donations
Amazing fact: we have never made a single penny. We're proud of this accomplishment, the way someone riddled with bullet holes but still standing might be proud. Unfortunately, this is also cause for consternation and speculation, like, what makes this possible? Divine intervention? Unimaginable luck? A really good shirt? With a small donation you can add the kindness of strangers to that list, and help support independent literature. Every dollar, dime, or penny will go directly to printing and web hosting costs. It won't even be used for new shirts.
Contact
We are alive and sometimes well and reachable at info@juked.com. Please indicate in the subject heading: Hello Juked so that we can more easily distinguish it from sneaky marketers trying to make us buy pills or watch porn.
Jokes and tall tales are particularly welcome.

Submissions
If you like what you read here, and you have something that's more or less up our alley, send it to submissions@juked.com. Be sure to indicate Submission: (genre) by (your name) in the subject line, or it could very well end up bundled with the rest of our junk mail.
There are no limits on word count for prose submissions—we like stories of all sizes, so long as the colors fit. Send us just one piece at a time, however, regardless of length. For poetry, please send a maximum of five poems.
In all instances we prefer Rich Text Format files (.rtf), but won't begrudge Word (.doc or .docx) documents. Do not send us WordPerfect, Microsoft Works, or Adobe Acrobat files. We are WordPerfect- and Works-deficient, and as for Acrobat submissions, well, it just feels awkward for us to read them that way, like we're reading a DVD manual or a conference program.
We encourage simultaneous submissions, but let us know immediately if your work has been accepted elsewhere. Previously published material, we are sorry to say, will not be considered.
Your work will always remain yours—we ask only for first- and one-time and archival rights. That means we use your work once, and then we place it lovingly into our archive.
If you don't hear back within four months write us with Query in the subject line and we'll see if it was misplaced.
We do not yet pay our contributors with hard currency, but are hopeful that will change some time in the future.
Visit the Print page for information regarding print submissions.
